Don't you know what causes that??

Yesterday, my friend Mark and I attended the Cornhole for a Cure fundraiser sponsored by the N.O.R. Foundation. The two of us were the only people with matching t-shirts, so people were very intimidated by us, thinking we were some serious cornhole players. As they should have been. Here we are, pointing to the bracket that clearly shows we blew away the first two teams we played against:

Nevermind that we won because they didn't show up. A W is a W, am I right? And then we were out of the tournament after we let two other teams win by huge margins. Anyway, try not to be too scared of our awesomeness if you see us playing cornhole at the Team Eve BBQ Fundraiser. Hopefully my arm won't be as sore by then.

Last night before I went to bed, I kissed a 2-, 3-, and 4-year-old goodnight. This morning, I was woken up by the screamings of a 2-, 4-, and 4-year-old. "I'm hungry!" "Is it good-morning time?" "Happy Mother's Day!" "WAKE UP, MOMMY!"

My very first Mother's Day, I had two kids. And before you start leaving comments about my Irish twins, YES, we do know what causes that. You'll have to get some new material.

This year, Search and Destroy's birthdays fell/fall on holidays- Dan's was today (Mother's Day, for those of you who forgot to send your mom anything but had a nagging feeling you were supposed to call her) and Nat's is on Memorial Day. Dan was gracious enough to share "Muzzah's Day" with me.

Matt made a delicious breakfast of two of my favorite foods, fried eggs and bacon, (BACON!) with hashbrowns. Then he finished it off with some croissant french toast and for a second, I was completely deafened to the sounds of whining, shoving, and thrown markers.

After inhaling a few birthday pancakes, Daniel opened his presents. He was a big fan of his new Buzz Lightyear swim goggles.

(I know what someone's bringing to Show and Tell!)

We wanted to spend the whole day as a family AND do something special for Dan, so we decided to chance it and go to the zoo. I know, you're shocked. The Griffith's let Eve out of the house and DIDN'T go to the doctor? Well, it was such a beautiful day, we just had to. I was thinking most mothers would be at the Olive Garden, anyway.

Turns out the zoo was a pretty popular place based on parking, but fortunately I didn't feel like Eve was close enough to anyone to be in the germ-zone. And for some reason, she cooperated and stayed in the stroller the entire visit. I can't remember the last time Eve has sat in the stroller without trying to climb out, but I'm guessing it was sometime last October. I think she was just happy to be outside.
I think for half a second, Nat was deciding whether she was going to jump the fence and go hang out with the giraffes. You can see it on her face.

We went to the zoo during Eve's normal naptime, so she crashed pretty hard on the ride home. And her hair is getting long enough where she can sport proper bed-head. Ryan Seacrest would be jealous.

Home again and I whip up Daniel's requested birthday dinner of hot dogs and chips (although, is it even fair to use the term "whip up" with this menu?). Then we sing happy birthday, dine on Cookie Monster, and give the kids some Benadryl. (It was one of those nights where it was getting late and they showed no signs of slowing down. But I swear one of them sneezed!)
(And Cookie Crisp- how'd that ever pass for breakfast??)

My plans for tomorrow? Hopefully chemo. If not, Plan B is laundry.
